A weekend convalescing from sickness that’s run through the family might just give us the opportunity to play a few of the growing stack of games received in the last month that haven’t been played. Added to that backlog this week was Eagle-Gryphon’s gorgeous Taluva.
What are you playing this weekend?
@Tom Haha! That was a good choice!
I kept warm indoors with Flashpoint: Fire Rescue.
I gave my 11 year old daughter free choice of what she wanted to play and she went for Qwirkle – so we played a few rounds. We’ve played Qwirkle a lot, but I still can’t get particularly excited by it. Game scoring tends to come out very close in the 2-player game, seeming more about luck than strategy. Perhaps I’m missing something?
I’ve been playing quite a lot of the Magic Labyrinth with my 5 year old who has enjoyed that one quite a lot.
Saturday I was at some friends were we had 3 rounds of Tichu, first time in a couple of years for me. Still an amazing game with the right crowd.
More time was spent on Winter’s favorite dexterity puzzle challenge “Where do I actually put all this snow I need to shovel?” than gaming the past 24 hours. With drifts up to 3 feet (and being barely over the high water mark of 5), things were grim. Did what I could, let The Boy go into Workhouse mode, and alternated between hot tea and merlot reading rule books and crossing toes power stayed on.
Did get a wee bit of 2-player fun in with Bottom of the 9th and some Sentinels.
If you are out there living Snow Life, be safe and warm.
I didn’t get any Last Night on Earth in this weekend.
Playing Tide of Iron solo to test a scenario I’ve been working on. Also since I got two expansions of Tide of Iron for Christmas, I will be designing scenarios for them soon too.
I finally managed to convert my father and my mother to boardgames.
I started with Sushi Go (2x)and Machi Koro (2x)then we played Ticket to Ride (2x), Thun and Taxis, Libertalia and Lord of Xidit.
They liked every games 🙂
Great weekend
I was feeling a bit under-the-weather heading into the weekend. However, played Roll for the Galaxy, Bruges, Glass Road, Istanbul w/M&B expansion & Under the Shadow of the Dragon on Saturday. I’m gonna take it easy on Sunday and watch the football conference championship games.
Had the monthly game evening with my friends. Got to play Caverna, Last Will, Shadows over Camelot, Ca$h ‘n Guns and Boss Monster.
Started the Saturday with some cooperative age-appropriate action in Hoot Owl Hoot with my 3 year old. Got friends coming later on – going to revisit Camel Up! and introduce them to Viceroy.
Got to play X-Wing for the first time in years. I look forward to rediscovering this game.
Played Bruges and Splendor on speed, hopefully tomorrow some time to play…
I got in some Pandemic already last night. We lost, so I may need to solo it later to make sure the world gets saved.
Snowed in with parents and mother in law. So far we have played timeline, star realms, and telestrations. Probably play some wits and wagers, snake oil, and hopefully some love letter. I also brought burgle bros for either a solo play or with my wife.
In honor of Wilbur Scoville’s 151st birthday (thanks for the heads up on that Google Doodle), I’ll be playing Scoville with the kids. Nice bright game for a dreary winter day.
Friday got in some Zombicide: Black Plague,
Saturday got in some Five Tribes (solo variant) harder than you would think it is, hehe.
Would love to play Zombicide: Black Plague, Fortune and Glory: the Cliffhanger Game, Tsuro of the Seas, and will see if some more come out.
Sentinels of the Multiverse, Ghostbusters, and Star Realms so far. Probably get some Last Night on Earth in.
@Strats WOO! Epic Game Day!
I hope the EGDs have 4×4’s because the snow has begun.
And for me the gaming…tonight some BattleCon War/Devastation character runs
