Doomtown: Reloaded - Clint Ramsey card

Clint Ramsey

Drifters are just that, hired guns and others who move from town to town in search of work. They don’t have a place to call home, and as such they’ll usually take pay from anyone willing to hire. Clint Ramsey is one of those.

As a 2 stud, he’s a solid gunslinger, and can add some punch to decks that might need more aggressive characters. His one ghost rock upkeep isn’t too bad, though there may come times when keeping him on the payroll could be a tough choice. He seems to have a history with the circus, or at least the circus seems to know him, which could lead to some… interesting… events in the near future.

Doomtown: Reloaded by AEG is scheduled for release in August of this year! Check out AEG’s official site to learn more about the game and stay up to date with the latest Doomtown news.

I can’t get into L5R – but this I certainly can…

@Budgie ‘Ghost Rock’ has been powering various Weird West Deadlands/Doomtown products through the years. RPGs, CCGs, table top skirmishes, and even a Disk Wars (an idea FFG seems to be try to bringing back). Take equal parts Brisco and Jonah Hex and unleash some mad science and spell-slinging and there you have it 🙂

@Chopper Dan – Aha! That makes sense. I’ll have to look more into it’s history; I totally missed it the first time around. The theme looks like a lot of fun and reminds me of that tv show The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

@Budgie, Doomtown used to be a CCG back in the late 90s and early 2000s, so there’s still some residual reference to its original format. Hopefully soon everyone will be on board with the new ECG format so there’s less confusion like you experienced. Give it a try when it comes out, it’s a fantastic game!

When I first glanced at the newsfeed and read the caption for this article the words “collectible card game” jumped out at me and I audibly groaned, thinking: Doomtown looks awesome…but I can’t get back into the collectable scene.

Thankfully I looked more into Doomtown. It is not a traditional CCG. They are calling it an ECG (Expandable Card Game). To me it seems virtually identical to Fantasy Flight’s LCG (Living Card Game) format. Small expansions called “Saddlebags” will be released at two per quarter, deluxe expansions are tentatively called “Pine Boxes”, and most importantly, to quote AEG, “all products will be released with fixed cards.” Yay!

Our friends at AEG just gave us the go ahead for Doomtown avatars! We’ll begin the process and they’ll hopefully launch in July.

@Chopper Dan, I’d say the chances are very high! We’ll get in touch with AEG and maybe we could get some up before or during the release of Doomtown.

Nice to see previews start to pop up here! Any chance we’ll be seeing some Doomtown avatars and themes coming soon?
