Having been a big Sim City (PC) fan for many years, I decided to back Town Center 4th ed. Looking forward to getting the latest and greatest iteration of it in Nov 2014!

@jblaske Welcome Grand Tinkerer 🙂

Hmmm…I am interested in your inspiration for the ‘Cowpoke and Cowpunk’ theme of Area 1851 and perhaps what a game play experience might be akin to and what makes The Area stand out and unique

Hey everybody – I just wanted to put a thanks out there to those of you that have taken an interest in and backed Area 1851.

If there are any questions any of you have about the game, I’m more than happy to answer any that I can.

I’m surprised the latest Small Box Games (they made Omen: A Reign of War) offering isn’t here – https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/smallboxgames/the-nile-ran-red?ref=live

Also, Dwarven Forge’s Caverns Game Tiles are doing amazing and have unlocked a ton of extras – https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dwarvenforge/dwarven-forges-caverns-dwarvenite-game-tiles-mini?ref=live

I just wish I wasn’t looking for work right now and could afford to jump in on these.

I just backed a brilliant card game on Kickstarter that was posted JUST before this update so it might have slipped through the net.
Pleasant Dreams from Aerjen Tamminga is a beautifully illustrated game in which you are attempting to stop yourself from having nightmares. I know I’m not doing the game justice with my description but I recommend at least giving it a look. It’s not expensive and it will look great in almost any collection!

Yeah.. I’m watching Capes & Villains… albeit out of the corner of my eye. It may have to punch one of the other games off my list though.

Can Dr. Cthulhu make Granny remove a poor little Euro? Sometimes you have to sacrifice the one for the greater good. Stay tuned!

@Account Deletion Sorry again 🙂 *sad clown oboe*

I has now become my mission to drag @Granny by the support hose over to C&V LOL

The thing about the Dr. Cthulhu mash-up is you can’t hold your head and go ‘OH NO CTHULHU…again? Keep your tentacles off my tabletop!’ because it fits. He can’t be anything else. And you can make him speak in a Zoidberg voice. 😛

@Hai – you beat me to it AGAIN! (dinner time on the West Coast… Stupid “no electronics at the dinner table” rule…)

A Doc Ock “mash-up” with his his metal tentacles relocated just might be the mash-up we’re looking for, @Granny!

@Granny The urban legend is that the guy who tries to sell it is the actual GUY who is just trying to holy grail all the copies in his Mom’s basement 😉

Hmmmm…I should just peddle The Boy’s copy for $800 😉 It lives in what I call his Ark of the Covenant (LOL his geek boy hope chest) with a complete Talisman 2ed, various copies of Heroquest (including some ‘super special’ one I’m not even allowed to look at ala Spinal Tap) and an autographed picture of Tom Baker. Capes and Cowls is pretty cool. There are about 100 Talisman-esque character cards of well realized heroes and villains – only problem being: no well realized game to go with them 😉

And you want a Cthulhu/Cape mash-up @Account Deletion will vouch that Capes and Villains has just that! DR. CTHULHU with a doctorate in Non-Euclidean Geometry and a penchant for talking really long naps

P.S. @Account Deletion finally follows me 😛 YAY! And my Catacombs post was put on temporary moderator hold because I directly said ‘dr***ing’ – but it is a fun summer shandy game

@Account Deletion Now, a Cthulhu Superhero mash-up may be needed to spice things up a bit.

@Granny… I do believe you snickered at my Cthulhu fatigue a few weeks back… so now it’s my turn. Superhero fatigue? Madness!

@HaiKulture Yep! It was Fantasy Flight. And, Capes and Cowls has someone trying to sell it for $1000 on BGG right now. Good luck with that!

Yeah, I’m watching Capes & Villains. I just want to make sure I’m going to get everything to the table. Too much of the same theme… doesn’t matter how good the game, my groups is going to get CapeFatigue.

I’ll say this about Catacombs

Any first timers or those debating a reboot copy, it makes a perfect post-BBQ game for your gamer group during summer days.

If you have an old air hockey table or a table with a rim so dungeon denizens don’t go flying, the game is a perfect event for the back porch. Summer nights and open spaces lend themselves to a walkabout the dungeon table to line up that ‘perfect shot’ and while drin…ummm… adult beverages, dexterity, and dungeon delving don’t always mix – it sure can get interesting. 🙂

@Granny Marvel Heroes Fantasy Flight, right? As for Capes and Cowls ……….*hee hee* (places finger on side of nose);)

Let it be said that with the forever wasteland of Capes & Cardboard for so long – The Cape Trilogy thankfully brought the rain and the capes from the Indie racks seem fairly decent and hold their own…

which reminds me…. CAPES & VILLAINS Check it out BGdot! 😉

The problem with looking at the kickstarter news is that I want too many of them and can’t afford any new games right now. In particular The Ancient World and Mercs Recon look fun. Hopefully they are funded and show up in stock somewhere so I can pick them up later.

I just got an email from Small Box Games that they have a set of games on Kickstarter that ends in 3 days. For those of you who know SBG… this is a no-brainer. For those who don’t, SBG puts out some fantastic games in small runs… Omen: A Reign of War, Hemloch, Bhazum, etc. One of the games in this set is a renamed reprint of Bhazum (a great game)… now called Crimson Sun.

BTW Rulebooks are there if you click on the BLUE text.

@IceDragon13 – Thanks for the tip about BoardGameArena. I had forgotten about it, because I just recently got a new computer. I’ll check out Tokaido there.
