We’ve finally recovered from our move, and the house is mostly box-free, so we’re getting back to Pandemic Legacy. We got crushed in our first attempt at August, losing in just 5 turns (not rounds, but turns… I played exactly once), so we’ll be giving that another shot.
What are you playing this weekend?
I miss the regular posts. I hope all is well.
Labor Day Weekend…it’s one of my favorites. We played our new Explores of the North Sea a few times. We also received Flee the Scene in that shipment. Finally a Kickstarter that delivers 3 months early (slated to be delivered in Nov). We plan to also play Thunderstone as a replacement for our regular Dominion game. And I hope to get another play of Pandemic Legacy in.
Played Settlers with the Traders and Barbarians expansion yesterday (I was off work) and will play other settlers games today with friends, going to a friends house for BBQ and Games and friends. Great Fun!!! My wife is going too, (even though she don’t like spending a lot of time with my single friends).
I had a good time with friends over the holiday weekend and played Lords of Waterdeep with the expansion, and we also played Ticket to Ride. I won the LOW and one of my best friends won TTR. We had a great time as two friends traveled sixty miles to spend the weekend at another friend’s (who is also single) house nearby. I don’t get to see all three friends together, but about three times a year. I used to be the fourth man of this “gaming bachelors group”, and we still go to gaming conventions (but I can only make about two a year now days).
Looking forward to trying Tiny Epic Kingdoms and Mage Knight this weekend.
No update the past 2 weeks…?
Anyway, I havent done much since then anyway, but luckily today I got in a good day of board gaming:
BraveRats
Neuroshima Hex 3.0
Dead of Winter
Tem-purr-a
Wizard Kings
I played more Patchwork this weekend. It is now my favorite grab and go “under 20 minute” game.
I got in a lot of gaming this past weekend:
Friday (8/19): Shogun
Saturday (8/20):Krosmaster: Quest, Roll for the Galaxy, St. Petersburg, & Kingsburg w/expansion.
Sunday (8/21): Napoleonic Wars
Having a game day tomorrow in San Jose, CA… were trying out Dungeon Fighter, Flick Em up, Luchador, Super Snot Shots, and a few others… its gonna be a weird day lol
@Jeff thanks for the info- it sounds interesting but definitely limited. Either way it makes me want to watch it again.
@burgerchief: Legendary: BTiLC is very flavorful, but it plays like a base set Marvel game, more or less. There’s not an extensive amount of variance: four Masterminds, three Henchman Villain groups, four Villain groups, but there are a lot of Schemes. The cards use the standard Legendary five-color linking scheme, but have a lot more interaction with other players (forced discards, give me a 0-cost starter, KO a card in your hand). There’s a new starter card type called Mediocre Heroes (low-power versions of the Heroes which make up the buy deck), who are all generally 0-cost, 1-buy with a narrow kicker (+1 Fight if no victory pile, +1 Fight if a Villain has escaped, etc.); these replace two of the standard twelve starters.
It’s fun, but I can see it being very limited in scope, considering there’s not a ton of room to make expansions.
I played Scythe, sixes and Thunderbirds.
@Jeff There’s a Legendary: Big Trouble in Little China? watched that movie an embarrassing amount. I’m going to keep an eye on that game. Let me know what you think!
It was my birthday, and I got some new games: Time Stories under the mask expansion and Tokaido collector’s accessory pack. 🙂
Broke out my GenCon winnings, and played games of Legendary: Big Trouble in Little China and Legendary Encounters: Firefly.
Legendary (Marvel) and Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures.
Managed to get some Gloom played in honor of the digital version kickstarter! 🙂
We got two plays of Legendary-Alien and one run through of Arkham Horror with Dunwitch, Innsmouth, and the King in Yellow expansions.
I got some plays of Pandemic: The Cure, Castle Panic, and Love Letter.
An absolute brilliant game of Eclipse on my part Sunday.
All ancients in my neighbourhood and when I finally had built a couple of cruisers with a plasma cannon and iniative to take one on I stepped up and rolled a total of 8 sub 5 rolls. Two rounds onwards I had a new chance with a pair of cruisers, now hopeless behind the others I wenr and rolled 9 sub 5 rolls.
17 rolls of 4 or less…and all I needed was 1 of them as 5 or 6 😀
I had a great weekend, started with Lords of waterdeep, which my wife loves. The first timer won by a landslide and then finished the night with a few games of Dominion. Excellent weekend.
Family vacation in Saskatoon has lead to many play sessions! We’ve had fun playing the following :
Twilight Squabble
Sushi Go
Archaeology
Ticket to Ride Asia and Netherlands
