“Get Your Determination”

There is a lot of dice rolling in this game. Having the ability to reroll dice rolls is huge. When your character levels up, look for the abilities which increase your maximum Grit. Grit allows you to reroll dice rolls. Having more Grit is a must!

Also, if you manage to find an item which allows dice rerolls, then hold onto it with two hands! There is also an item or two, such as the Lucky Dice, which you can purchase in town that gives rerolls too.

“Protect Yourself from those Nasty Stones”

During the game you’ll find Dark Stones throughout the mine and/or Other World. You need Dark Stones because they allow you to upgrade your weapons and other items. However, they can also corrupt your character.

The first item you should buy at town is a Tomb Chest. A Tomb Chest can store up to 9 Dark Stones. At the end of a mission, you roll 1D6 against Will for each Dark Stone and item with a Dark Stone your character possesses. Failed die rolls result in Corruption Points and too much corruption will give your character a mutation which will likely hinder your character. There is no need to roll for any Dark Stones stored in your Tomb Chest! The chest protects your character and allows you to safely store a good amount of Stones for use in town.

“Get a Room!”

At the end of a long hard mission, your tired posse travels to the nearest town. You should limit your town stay to a few days at most and restock your supplies such as Bandages and Whiskey. When the posse gets to town, pay the $10 per night cost for a hotel room. Yes, the campsite is free; however, bad events could occur at the campsite. These events have the potential to give your character wounds which carry over to the next mission. Or worse yet, the event may force the posse out of town before it can visit any locations and stock up on supplies! The cost of the hotel room is well worth making sure your posse is ready for the next mission.

“Add one to rolls with grit”

I play my games where you can spend a grit to raise your dice rolls by one. This is useful if you are rolling to kill a monster or complete a roll. This rule is simply another use for the grit. It will also add a small amount of strategy because you will run out of grit quickly if you are always using your grit to increase a single die.
