“Control the Production Wheels”

Controlling the turning of your Production Wheels is key to winning. Food and Charcoal are the only two resources on both Production Wheels. Use these resources as a stop-gap measure to control the turning of the Wheels. Keep food at 0 or 1 on one wheel and use the food on the other Wheel as your ‘working’ amount. Keep charcoal at 0 or 1 on the Wheel you use food as your ‘working’ amount and your ‘working’ amount of charcoal on the Wheel with little food. Keeping a low amount of these resources will allow you to build your other resources while also maintaining control of the Production Wheels. When you need more brick or glass simply slightly increase your stop-gap resource to your desired amount.

“Maximize Your Number of Actions”

Players select 5 Specialist cards for each Building Period, but only 3 cards are guaranteed to be played. The number of actions a player receives for a Building Period ranges from 3 to 8. You want to choose 3 Specialist cards to play that you think your opponents will not need. Thusly, when you reveal and play these cards, your opponents will not have a copy in their hand so you get to use both actions on your card. You also need to select 2 Specialist cards you think your opponents will play. If you choose correctly, then you will get to play an additional action when your opponents reveal their card. As an added bonus, playing a copy of the card on your opponent’s reveal will also limit your opponent to 1 action.

“Take advantage of the Feudal Lord early”

The Feudal Lord gives you three personal buildings to buy. Doing this early means you can plan without interruption from other players.
