Conceived by renowned game designer Paolo Mori, Dogs of War is an elegant game set in a steampunk-influenced renaissance universe. Noble houses engage each other in a series of fierce battles, and it is up to the players and the Dogs of War they control to deploy their private armies in support of whatever house they wish to favour.

Players take to the battlefield as one of the Dogs of War! As Captains of their own private army, each Dog of War has a special ability that will help them win influence, battles, or betray the house they've sworn allegiance to!

Dogs of War

Dogs of War is not a game of pure military power, but rather a game where deception and betrayal often lead the way to a decisive victory. The goal for the Dogs of War is to earn the most power by the end of the game. Thanks to thoughtful game design and development, there are many ways to achieve this, like defeating other Captains in battle, getting rewards from the Houses you help, amassing gold and troops and, most importantly, gaining influence with the most successful Houses.

“Favorite all-time game!”

This game is absolutely amazing!

When you first look at it, the overall amount of pieces can be a bit overwhelming. However, once you start playing, you’ll realize that it’s not as complicated as you were thinking.

I think first time play is best in a 3-player game, using only 2 battles on the board. That way a new player only has to pay attention to two battles, and the actions of two other players.

Once you’ve played once or twice though, you should be able to start strateging and playing in a group of 5-players with all three battles active!

There’s plenty of options as to who you can be, and each player gives you a unique ability that can help shape but not decide your particular strategy.

If you like a competitive and hard-thinking game with friends, this one will fit the bill!
