Elder Sign: Omens

Pros:
It’s a great solo play game when you just want to kill some time. It is a real challenge to win until you find the perfect team, and work out a solid strategy.

The production quality is great and very well polished and the art work with the sound effects keeps the theme alive throughout the entire game. The downside to the theme is that there is only one boss that you go up against.

Cons:
Once I figured out those two factors the game actually got to be a little to easy.

You go up against the same Elder every time so your strategy does not have to vary because the way monsters and such behave the same. Once I found out the best team and worked out a strategy I was winning 3 out of 4 games.

In conclusion:
Is it worth the money? Yes.

This is a great solid game available on the limited Android market of digital board games. Lets hope Fantasy Flight creates an update that will add more Elders for some variety.

This game is great and in my top 5 of all time games. It has everything from the series: strategy, betrayal, changing loyalties, and the balance of human civilization all in one game. If you are a fan of the show you will appreciate the flavor text that ties the game to the show when making those hard decisions.

The production quality is great, instead of just wooden cubes you get miniature vipers and raiders to move around the board. The only complaint is the skill cards are those tiny tiny micro cards and there is not very many of them, so in a game you go through the decks quickly and shuffle often. Buying card sleeves for the skill cards is a must if you want to keep your cards from looking worn out by the 3 time you play.

It is a long game though – average for us is roughly 3 hours. And don’t play to win, just play for the excuse to airlock someone and you will have a great time.
