For first time players I highly advise you have an experienced player walk you through. This game is a challenge to learn. That said once learned its a fantastic game. Played it dozens of times solo and with up to five players.

I particularly enjoy playing the full game with minor improvements and occupations but they add a much steeper degree of difficulty. Great for a group of avid gamers but if your playing it as a family game, playing with kids or introducing new players the added dimension can be overwhelming.

The solo series is fantastic if you have lots of free time, love strategy and can’t find someone to sit down with. I play it at work when things are slow using a laptop to track resources.

The game can be frustrating at times if you play with players intent on blocking your actions rather then building their farm up or constantly stealing the starting player Icon but that frustration has more to do with player issues then the game itself.

Overall its a great game with fantastic replay value.

As a long time (30+ year) RPG gamer and D&D devotee… I hated it. Love D&D! Love World of Warcraft! Don’t want the two combined! A giant step backwards in RPG gaming. This reduced a fantastic immersive RPG into a table top minitaures game. By far the worst feature is the healing/hit point recovery system. I wish my real life booboos healed after a brief picnic lunch. Pass.

Fantastic game. I play it at least every other weak. Enjoyed by fellow avid gamers and the family. Easy to learn, quick and challenging!I have yet to play it with someone who could not grasp and did not enjoy it.
