This is my son’s FAVORITE game and my least favorite! 🙁 I just find the concept boring. If you have great dice rolls, you have more options. If you are like me, you spend the ENTIRE game in the first ring. We own all the expansions for this game and I still can’t find one single reason to suggest playing this with my family. I like that my son wants to play games with us, I just wish he would find a new favorite. I think there are so many games with a fantasy theme that play so much better than this game. The concept is easy enough to figure out. I also think the game takes too long to play.

This game is a great intro into deck building. We play this with my eight year old. It plays quick enough to hold his attention. I am hoping that once he is really confident playing it he will be able to transfer the concepts to games like Dominion and Thunderstone. I like that it plays quick and I think it is a lot of fun.

We bought this game after having the best time playing it at Gen-Con a few years ago. Once we got it home and tried to play it ourselves, we realized it was quite confusing without an expert leading us through the game. I agree Fire-soul that combat is extremely confusing. I wish I could find the desire to try to play it again with some modified combat house rules.

This was the first game I played the first time I went to Gen-Con three years ago. I loved it! It is still one of my favorite games to play. I love that the races and abilities get mixed up, so you have a “new” game every time you play. This is a great game to introduce non-gamers to “real games”. The artwork is fun! The game scales very well for different group sizes.

I am huge fan of the Game of Thrones book series. I love this card game because I think it did a great job incorporating awesome characters and memorable events/places into the game. I’m an avid game player and caught on to this game quickly. My fiance and I also have all of the chapter packs, so we have gotten into custom deck building with our favorite houses. This is one of my favorite card games to play.
