Got an opportunity to demo this game at GenCon and I must say it was a lot of fun. It is one of those games that both doubles as something that you can play with you kids, if you have any, or sit around one night with your friends drinking beers and eating pizza. The rules are fairly simple to grasp and the re-playability on the game is limitless with the ability to constantly change the track. In addition, the game is never the same with the ability to “trick-out” your hot rod with various weapons, tires, engines, etc. The game is good fun for one and all.

This promises to be a pretty exciting expansion. With the new Spider Stronghold, The Plain of Glass, it will allow you to use the Conquest ability twice via this stronghold. It also allows you to equip Followers during the Battle Phase which is normally only allowed during the Limited Phase. This could be a potential game changer for Spider Clan players.

Also do not overlook the sheer awesomeness of the Shadow Dragon.

Get your friends together and side up with the survivors to stop the zombie threat or take control of the zombies and devour your friends. Both sides are fun though I personally enjoy ruining the survivors day by playing as the zombies. Get this game for those who have an interest in the zombie/survival genre.

This is one of those games that is great for those group get-togethers where you do not feel like playing D&D and just doing an old fashioned dungeon crawl. Though the game can take some time to set up, the pay off is very much worth it.

This is a fantastic game to get other people into something besides the typical trappings of Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, etc. I have taken this to family game nights and everyone had a good time. It was easy enough to teach to family members unfamiliar with games of this genre before and “strategically complex” enough to keep those who were familiar with games like this interested.

This game is just plain awful. It was an attempt by WOTC to combine their awful 4th Edition of D&D with a dungeon crawl board game…and they failed. My group and I attempted to play it multiple times and had no fun each time we got slaughtered since you take damage every turn regardless of what you do. I was glad that my friend had wasted his money on it and not myself (sidenote: I think he ended up selling it at a local game store action the following summer).

This is a great party and family game. It is really easy to learn and even young kids can enjoy playing it at the next family get together. While the rules are simple, the fun is defiantly unlimited in this case.

I bought this game years and years ago under the name Samurai Swords and my friends and I love it. The game is designed to best played with as many people possible since creating alliances to team up against other players is a must and then later betraying them to garner yourself a victory is fantastic fun. A little tip, if you can always buy your sword (which will determine turn order) and the ninja if you can (since it will prevent other players from assassinating your generals/daimyo). If playing a feudal Japanese warlord in a strategy game setting interests you then this is the game for you.

While I still play the newer expansions to the L5R CCG (Emperor Edition being the current one), friends of mine used to play this game a long time ago also. And while they are not playing the current story arc or even really buying any of the new cards from the newest expansion, they do love the fact that they can play the game with their older cards in a multiplayer setting that does not take hours and hours to play. The rules for this game are similar to the L5R CCG but the victory conditions have changed enough so that you are not just playing kingmaker during said multiplayer games. So whether you are a new player or an old player with a bunch of cards gathering dust on a shelf somewhere pick this up and have some great times once again.
