So, you are a villager in a village and Movie Monsters are terrorizing the place, get your weapons and a posse and go Hunting… The gist of this little gem is to take out so many monsters before your opponents and hopefully you at least have one townsfolk left when you do. The Art is good and fun, the gameplay is easy to learn, there is a small bit of reading on the cards. But, once you have mastered that the Monsters come and Go and either you were afraid and lost folks or you triumphed and kicked some Supernatural butt. Anyway around it, the game is fun and it does not take long. Keep grabbing those rakes and shovels Gamers and try to bag some baddies…

With the Treasure and Traps game, as I said in the game review is easily taught and played by the whole family. When this past Gencon 2012 I saw the booth again, I noticed an expansion deck…I was excited. And I bought this deck for me and a Main Game and Expansion Deck for my nephew that day. Played it soon after and the addition of classes was very fun and new cards to deal with is a great addition to the overall flow of the game. Keep Rolling Gamers as the tides can turn in your favor with some new shiny armor…

Treasures and Traps

8 out of 24 gamers thought this was helpful

Treasures and Traps is a great game for 2 to 6 players to dominate the realm by collecting a Bronze, Silver, and Gold Treasure Item at the same time. This game has a lot of twists and turns from other players though as they can use spells and monsters to take or get rid of your special treasures. I say that this is fun and easily played as I have taught my nephew and my brother to play this game in one round of playing. And, since last Gencon 2012 my nephew has his own copy now. Good Fun and keep rolling gamers as the treasures you seek might not stay yours…

When this game came out I was introduced to it by my friend stating ” you love word games I think you will be good at this one.” Since then I now own it and have gotten several others to buy it. The fast paced fun of this game makes the word play get out of control, and since you are only allowed to play in your space on on your words (Sky’s the Limit). This game is so entirely fun that my mother who taught me Scrabble and my brother who is another disciple of my mother, we can play just the three of us for at least an hour before the rest of the family has to tear us away from the game… It’s that GOOD! Keep playing gamers and get that “Peels” phrase going so fast the others can’t keep up…

Cranium

Cranium back a few years was the first of its kind; a game that was very family oriented and fun to play when the whole family is in town. The variety of games and the usage of props guarantees a lot of laughs and entertainment. The way the game is setup is very similar to all the older games for family fun as you go around the board being asked questions or drawing something or now playing with modeling clay. The game is a great way to spend some quality time with friends and family. Keep playing gamers and try to make the Ship in the Bottle out of clay…geesh.

The trick of Rowboat is “Tricks” the game is, once played a few times gets fast and fun. The game is a great family game and is basic enough to get all the relatives involved. I did enjoy the game a lot, but I play “Hike” more than this. It’s a game you have to play once and it might be your cup of tea; it is good to have someone who has played a bunch of card games in their past to teach it to others, as this is how I taught some of my family. Keep playing gamers and don’t get wet…

Hike was as I call it Gencon (2011)’s game you had to have. It was very easy to learn and super simple to play and very good for friends and family game nights. The game is very basic though and you can play a few hands and then it sits in one of my game bags for awhile, until we get the “urge to take a Hike” again. I talked with the booth guys again this Gencon 2012 and told them that their game is being played a bunch in Buffalo. Keep playing gamers and “Hike” your way to the nature and play a game that is fun and entertaining, just watch out for the “POOP”…

So, when I started playing the Catan line I immediately found that the game could be very addictive. The fun of the game being the thrill of the trade and the process of the empire build-up. The game does take a bit to setup, but the game once your in it starts to fly. So many little ways to play some strategic moves and the special expansions from Gencon 2012 will be played soon. My gamer pal Ozzy owns it and I picked up one of two expansions for the system and we will be all over that next game night at his house. Keep playing gamers and build up your supplies you will need them to expand your empire…

Arkham Horror in a smaller quicker game and yet the fun of going insane is still very real. The game play is fast and fun, and the co-op aspect of it is great to work with your friends to beat back the evil of the Great Old Ones. The playability is good as in time the cards will start to become known to us as we play more. But, the outcomes will always be the fun of the race against certain destruction. Keep playing gamers and get your Terror Dice only when they are needed…

Elder Sign: Omens is great as a card game, but now as I played it with a friend for several hours until his IPAD died in the car ride home Gencon 2012 to Buffalo. Everything that is in the card game is here and the playability is outstanding and easy to get into. Keep playing gamers and don’t let the Old Ones get the upper hand, or do cause you have no choice…

Zombies!!! (2ed)

Can be quick and painless or long and grueling, but anyway you put it Zombie’s is a great versus or co-op play. I get this game out even for my brother who really doesn’t play these style games anymore, and he will jump on board and slay zombie’s with the best of them. I keep some of my mini’s with me when I play so everyone can be a cool looking figure with some sweet weaponry. It gets fun. The game play is smooth and the vengeance is swift if playing the versus way. Keep playing gamers and find new ways to mess with your pals the next time an outbreak happens in your living room…

Dominion: Intrigue

Last Gencon (2011), I finally played Dominion and had a blast while doing it. I went to demo it with my wife and we had a great time and it was super easy to understand. I later that trip brought my friend called Ozzy over to play and we both walked away from the Con with a copy. He got the basic set and I got Intrigue. We played it several times throughout the year and just last week at Gencon 2012 I brought it to play in the room and taught it to a few more friends, one of them came away with the basic set this year. Keep playing gamers and build your deck with strategy and wit, or just try and give your opponents ****…

Carcassonne

The Game itself is very easy to pick up and once you have the objectives of your turn down the game starts to fly. The game is great for all ages and is just wonderful for easy family night game play. Or, if you want a quick strategic game to play versus your friends, fire Carcassonne up and your on your way. I even have the Video Game version on my X-Box 360 and it is so fun to play and easily transferable into the realm of who is the better online player. So, keep playing gamers and build up your Keeps and Roads and don’t forget your farms.

Arkham Horror

Just a great all around game, since the game is co-op it can truly be co-op or fight to the death. (And Death you will have; why on earth would I hang out in a cemetery and dig up mound next to a grave that is unmarked or not readable just to find out that the Mound and everything around it is cursed or something… Just Awesome.) But, the game which I don’t own yet is a great game that you really need several hours to play and the best thing is to play in a bigger group and to work within that group as a team. (Or else you Die…See above.) For people that know how to play, we still need to check the rules from time to time as they are so advanced. But again, the people who know how to play help the people that don’t so good and everything works out. Keep playing gamers the Great Old Ones will not cease their onslaught.
